meet the coaching staff

Sean McDonald | Head Coach

Coach Sean McDonald serves as the  Head Football Coach and Athletic Coordinator at Mountain View High School, where he is entering his third year leading the football program.

As Head Football Coach, McDonald and his staff continue to build a program focused on accountability, physicality, toughness, and player development. Prior to joining Mountain View, McDonald made a significant impact at his alma mater, leading the program to three state championships in 2017, 2018, and 2021. He also helped transform a 2-7 Woodland program into a league champion and state playoff team, demonstrating his ability to develop successful programs and establish a culture of sustained excellence.

McDonald’s coaching philosophy is deeply rooted in his experience as a player at Humboldt State University, where he was a two-time All-Conference defensive tackle and a Strength and Conditioning All-American. His playing career continues to shape his approach to coaching, with an emphasis on physicality, discipline, toughness, and developing student-athletes—particularly in the trenches.

In his role as Athletic Coordinator, McDonald is committed to helping build a strong culture across Mountain View athletics centered on achievement, consistency, discipline, character, and the overall development of student-athletes.

Outside of athletics, McDonald is a proud father of three daughters, Emma, Arielle, and Hadley, and is married to his wife, Tiffany. His family is an important part of his life and provides a strong foundation as he continues to serve the Mountain View community as a coach, mentor, and athletic leader.

DEVON WILSON | CO-HEAD COACH OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR, OL

Coach Devon is entering his sixth year of coaching and brings a strong background in offensive line play, run game development, and offensive leadership to the Mountain View football program.

Devon began his coaching career at Union High School, where he spent three seasons coaching the Offensive Line, Tight Ends, and Running Backs. He joined the Mountain View coaching staff two years ago as the Offensive Line Coach and Run Game Coordinator, helping establish a physical and disciplined identity up front.

In addition to his role at Mountain View, Devon serves as the head coach of the eighth-grade football team at Shahala Middle School, where he continues to develop young athletes and help build a strong foundation for the next generation of football players.

Following a successful season as the program’s Offensive Coordinator, Devon will take on an expanded role this season as Co-Head Coach. His experience, leadership, and commitment to player development make him an integral part of the Mountain View football program's continued growth and success.

Chris Clark | RB & OL, Booster Club Liaison

Coach Chris Clark is entering his third season on the football staff at Mountain View High School. He has coached the offensive line, coordinated special teams, and supported the JV and C-Team programs. This season, he is also stepping into a leadership role as the program’s booster club liaison.

A former college football player at Western Oregon University and College of the Redwoods, Coach Clark was a three-sport athlete at Columbia River High School, where he competed under several Hall of Fame coaches. He was also part of a baseball program that finished second in the state in back-to-back seasons.

Off the field, Coach Clark serves as a Special Education Paraeducator at Mountain View, reflecting his commitment to supporting student-athletes both academically and personally. His diverse professional background—including experience in comedy, real estate, and event management—brings a unique perspective and energy to the Mountain View football program.

Rey Green | Defensive Coordinator

Coach Rey Green is a Vancouver native and former standout athlete at Evergreen and Union High School. He went on to compete at the Division I level at the University of Montana before continuing his playing career at Central Washington University.

Green began his coaching career in 2019 at Union High School under coaches Rory Rosenbach and Kevin Coad. Since then, he has helped build a consistently successful program while developing a strong foundation in football strategy, leadership, and athlete development.

Green is passionate about developing disciplined and accountable student-athletes while helping young men grow in faith, character, and leadership. His coaching philosophy is rooted in his Christian faith and a commitment to helping young men succeed both on and off the field.

Jaden hornsby | Linebackers

Coach Jaden Hornsby currently serves as the Varsity Linebackers Coach, bringing a well-rounded understanding of the game after previously coaching wide receivers as well. His experience on both sides of the ball gives him a unique perspective on player development and the game as a whole.

A former player at Union High School, Coach Hornsby continued his football career at George Fox University. As a coach, he emphasizes teamwork, discipline, and character, challenging his players to grow both on and off the field.

His coaching philosophy is guided by Philippians 2:3: “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.” This commitment to humility, selflessness, and putting the team first is at the heart of his approach to coaching.

chris jones | Defensive Line

Coach Chris Jones serves as the Defensive Line Coach, bringing a strong background in both football and wrestling to the Mountain View football program. As a player at Naches Valley High School, he earned First Team All-League honors on the defensive line and placed third in the state in wrestling.

In addition to coaching football, Coach Jones is also a wrestling coach at Mountain View, where he continues to help athletes develop toughness, discipline, and a strong work ethic. His experience in both sports provides a valuable perspective on physical preparation, mental resilience, and competitive development.

Outside of coaching, Coach Jones works at Mountain View as a Special Education Paraeducator, demonstrating his commitment to supporting student success both on and off the field.

WILLIAM GARDNER | C-TEAM HEAD COACH

Coach Gardner serves as the Head Coach of the C-Team, bringing a strong playing and coaching background to the Mountain View football program. He played quarterback and safety at Steilacoom High School, helping lead a top-10 state-ranked team that advanced to the playoffs in all four years.

Coach Gardner spent more than a decade coaching at Wy'East Middle School, where he developed practice plans, game strategies, and player development programs focused on helping athletes grow both on and off the field.

Now at Mountain View, Coach Gardner looks forward to bringing proven offensive and defensive systems to the C-Team while helping build a strong foundation of fundamentals, discipline, and teamwork for the future of the program.

dennis stewart

Coach Stewart grew up in Seattle, Washington, where he played defensive end in high school and developed a deep passion for the game of football. Over the past four years, he has coached both the offensive and defensive lines, helping athletes develop their skills, discipline, confidence, and character both on and off the field.

In the summer of 2024, Coach Stewart moved to Vancouver to be closer to family. In April 2026, he and his wife welcomed their first son, adding an exciting new chapter to their family.

Outside of coaching, Coach Stewart enjoys watching football and studying the game, continually looking for ways to learn, improve, and bring that knowledge back to his players.
